Feb
Black History Month partnering with Sims School, Fort Worth, Texas. GDT Children's  group will share the dance  Fanga, a welcome dance from West Africa- Liberia. GDT children teach the Sims school children by video and live drums recording the steps and movement of the Fanga. Program ongoing until end of Feb, when Sims school children will perform  the dance and share their video.  Date to be announced.

Vietnamese New Year Celebration at 7 Flags. GDT performs at 1:30 PM.
Vietnamese Des Moines high school students are rehearse at  GDT studio on Friday evenings.

Van Meter School, Arts Enichment Program. Performance: 9:45 AM Karina Barone and GDT students. Workshop classes by Penny and "LeeMan" Furgerson, in movement and rhythms 1:10 - 2:30 PM for students 12-21,for  visually, auditory and physicially/mentally impaired Van Meter students.

Apr 10-13
Waukee Elementary School . GDT residency sponsored by Waukee PTO Fine Arts. Classes for all students will be availbable during the residency. Performance by students and GDT students on April 13 . 9AM for students upto 2nd Grade. 10AM for students upto 5th Grade.

"A Memorial and More" presented by Children and Family Urban Ministries(CFUM)".  3PM, Trinity United Methodist Church 1548 -8th St (8th and College). Free will offering. Proceeds to MLK Memorial and Child Voice International. GDT students perform

Earth Day, Metro Arts Alliance. Greenwood Park. GDT Performance 2:15-2:35PM. GDT's performance is a semi-classical Indian dance based on the elements of nature, and  a new presentation with Mikiel Williams on water.

Downtown Des Moines Art Center Exhibition Opening. Music entertainment provided byGDT-  cross cultural music of India and Jazz. Musicians Ambika Artheya, Lee Furgerson, Mike Pfaff, Sree Nilakanta, Ajmal Rahi, Mikiel A. Williams
